Depart on South Africa Airways from New York to Johannesburg (see details below). Arrive into Johannesburg and transfer to INDABA HOTEL for 3 nights, November 4th is a “free day” to rest and get over the jet lag.
November 05: Full day tour of Johannesburg & Pretoria. Return to Johannesburg for dinner.  The above itinerary INCLUDES:Transfers by small luxury motorcoach for the group, including Meet & Greet upon arrival into Johannesburg. Hotel Accommodations - Single rooms are confirmed at the Indaba Hotel in Johannesburg and at the City Lodge Umhlanga Ridge. I am sorry, but we will have to share on the safari portion of the tour as the safari lodges are very exclusive and usually only have 5 – 8 suites in total at the lodges. Single rate is on request for accommodations in Cape Town, the Winelands and on the Garden Route portion of the trip. Golf – as listed above and underlined in itinerary. We will attempt to site inspect other golf courses along the trip depending on time constraints. Meals – most meals will be included and breakfast is included each day. The meals that are not included will be minimal and most often dinner reservations will be set up so that we will have separate cheques/checks for everyone for their own expense accounts and alcohol. Game Safari - with game drives is included. However tips to game guides is not included. Safari Lodges in South Africa are noted for their excellent food and service. NOT INCLUDED: - alcoholic beverages - on your own account unless we are hosted. - items of a personal nature such as laundry, phone calls, etc. - tips to coach guides and hotel bellman are not included unless specified in final itinerary. AIR DETAILS: We are able to offer airfare from New York or Washington, DC to South Africa on South African Airways at $1,250.00 USD including taxes and in Economy Class - but it needs to be booked soon as possible as they will not hold seats without exact names (the same name as is on your passport). Those of you that want to make your own air reservations using a convenient carrier for you (depending on what home city you live and what international gateway you want to use) can do the land package only (see price below) with arrival into Johannesburg on November 4th. Transfer from Johannesburg airport to hotel will be included for everyone's arrival. SAA has good air rates for connecting flights from your home city and we can get that for you if you want us to quote on the additional cost of airfare to New York or Washington. Some participants may want to use their airline mileage rewards or get their own airfare through their travel agent. Please contact me or your travel agent for information on airfare from your home city and price quotes on Business Class if desired. Please note that the SAA (South African Airways) flight from New York to Johannesburg is 17 hours and 10 minutes (with a short refueling stop in Senegal on the way) and the return flight to New York is 18 hours and 35 minutes (headwinds!). The SAA flight from Washington, DC is a new non-stop service and is 15 hours & 30 minutes on the outbound and 18 hours & 30 minutes on the inbound.
For the period from January to April, 2006 the increase in visitors to South Africa over the same period in 2005 is 16.3% for Canada and 7.8% for the USA. The total number of visitors from all countries is already up 4.2% from 2005 over the same 4 months. South Africa is a “hot” destination!!!
